The Enrollment Process
If you have looked through this website and are interested in learning more, please read ahead to learn about the enrollment process at Corner Cottage Child Care.
Your family's commitment to finding the right fit for your child is very strong, just as is my commitment to carefully interviewing potential families to make sure my child care business would be a good fit for them. Enrolling in my child care is a mutual decision that both a family and myself make together. I think about the dynamics of the children already in my care with the potential new child, a family's needs, what a family expresses they want in a child care, and the family's comfort level with my policies when choosing to enroll a new child. Beginning relationships with new children and a new provider is a lot for a child to go through, so I do everthing I can to make sure my child care is a great fit for any prospective child before going ahead with enrollment.
Any prospective family can begin the enrollment process by emailing or calling me (507 -272-8634) to see if I have any openings. If I do, we can then setup an interview to tour the child care, answer questions, go over my policies, and get to know one another. If I do not have openings, you may choose to be placed on my waiting list and I can contact you when an opening does become available.
After the interview, if I'm conducting multiple interviews to fill one spot, I will contact families with an answer shortly after I interview all the families. It breaks my heart to have to turn families away, but I can only accept so many children at one time. As I meet more local providers, I will be happy to pass on other names of providers in the area to contact if I am unable to enroll your child.
Once enrolled, a family will receive a packet of forms to return to me, and then we will discuss from there the start date, how to acclimate the child(ren) to the new child care environment, and any other concerns we have to make it a smooth process for everyone involved.
